Term 3 Week 2 recount

Dear Diary, 

For this week Mrs Melville and Mrs Graham put up the Student Directed learning levels and I am on Level 1 which is a recruit which is a teacher directed learning I cried a lot. 

Hi Hi Hi that was a joke to joke you guys I thought I will start with a joke so I joke you guys or not. Well, lets don't talk about this now the truth is I am a master level 4 and I can mentor my bodies and by the way I have Charlotte, Mandy and Thomas. At the start I don't believed I am on level 4 and I find mentoring people hard now I find it not hard now it was easy and fun now.

My Reflection

I was learning to understand the purpose of a explanation and a simple structure of a explanation. I had to read some information about the explanation to know what a is a explanation. I thought it was really interesting and really easy follow because it was simple . I chose to share my learning by completing the activity. I thought it was easy after reading the information. My next step is to write my own explanation.

Fraction ordering game

My Reflection

I was learning to order fractions from lowest to highest. I had to drag the fractions and put them in to lowest to highest order. I find this easy because I know a lot about fractions. My next step is to do more harder games.

Questions: How do you compare fractions that have like numerator?  If the numerator is bigger in one of the fraction the fraction has the big numerator is bigger and the numerator on the other fraction the numerator is smaller that fraction is smaller.

How do you compare fractions that have like denominator?  If the denominator is bigger in one of the fractions that means the big denominator is smaller than the other one and the other one denominator is smaller that means that is bigger.

How do you compare fractions that have different numerators and denominators?  Convert the fraction into decimals which decimal is bigger that fraction is bigger, which decimal is small that fraction s smaller.

I am learning to create a well-designed poster. I chose "Don't stop when you are tired, stop when you are done y Manuel Tratter. 

Tree planting

Yesterday, Room 28/29 went to plant trees behind the field. I felt a bit excited and a bit worried about getting dirty. 

When we arrived behind the field, Anna, Carl and Paul were waiting. We sat down on the grass. First Anna told us why we plant trees and the first reason is that if it rains on the slope and the dirt will get washed away and this called erosion. The second reason she told us is that trees give us oxygen. The last reason she told us is that there is a lot of wild lives and animals live in the trees we plant trees we will give them a habitats.    

Then Paul and Carl told us how to plant trees. they told us our first step is to get a spade and dig the soil on the slope by the fence. the second step is to put the plant in and check the hole. the third step is to get a fertilizer pellet and put it in the hole. The last step is to get the soil that we dug out and put it in the hole and fill it and give it a stamp. Paul also told us the types of trees that we were planting, we planted Toitoi, Flax, Cabbage tree and two other trees.

After that, I got into partners with Mandy and we followed the instructions to plant. We didn't have much time to plant the time flew by and we need to wash our hands and go back to class.

It was a great day. My favourite part was planting the trees. I am looking forward to see these trees when they grow bigger.

My Reflection

I was learning to add detail to my story to give the reader more information. I find this hard because I do not get all the verbs tenses. My next step is to practice my tenses more.
