My Term 2 Week 6 recount blog entry

On Monday, the year 5 went to Te Tuhi for Matariki and help the vertical garden display. First, Mrs Melville ask us to gather our stuffs and then we went on the school van and off we go. Then we get to Te Tuhi, Jeremy comes out an welcomed us. After that we went to the room that we usually meet in, Jeremy taught us what we going to make and the steps how we make it. We first cut  the bottles and then we use orange and yellow stickers to decorate the bottle when we finished decorating the bottles we filled the bottles with potting mix and we plant the plant in the bottle and then we are finished. After making our vertical garden Jeremy showed us a whole lot of other stuffs. After showing the other stuffs we need to leave Te Tuhi. So we leaved sadly.

Term 2 Week 5

Last week, we played Kahoot. We played about New Zealand. I got 2 wrongs and the rest of it is all correct. I really enjoyed it. I want to play more Kahoot because it was very very fun.

Addition and subtraction strategies

My Reflection

I am learning different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problem. I learnt Place Value partitioning and Rounding and compensating. I found both strategies easy because I used my basic facts. I prefer Place Value Partitioning because it is always good even large numbers. I stuck at the Place value Partitioning S.C but then I got it. I enjoyed creating the slideshow.

Term 2 Week 3

On Monday, Len Brown the mayor came to our school to award the Green Gold Enviroschool award for being a clean school. I was in the Kapa Haka group we did the powhiri to the mayor we did EIAIE and the choir group did a powhiri too. They did a powhiri too. After the powhiri Len Brown and Mrs Plowright presented the Green Gold Enviroschool award. When we finished the assembly we went back to the classrooms, Len Brown had a peek around the school. I was very happy that our school got the Green Gold Enviroschool award. The Kapa Haka group 's girls got hi five to Len Brown.
